saturday evening>

we've had random sprinkles and light showers since about 1030am today... and a thundershower is in progress as i write. the official rainfall total for the day was only 0.10" (2mm) as of the mid-afternoon, but we'll obviously have more to report later this evening. the high temp was 23c/74f, thanks to a few periods of sunshine during the early morning, and again in the early afternoon.

**UPDATE @ 930pm** evidence of the wide variety of rainfall amounts in mountainous areas... our official tally for today just above the temple was 0.85" (2.2cm), but i received 0.50" (1.3cm) at the top of mcleod ganj, just below the mountaineering center.

all signs are pointing to a return to full-on monsoon conditions during the coming 24-48 hours. rain chances will continue to increase into the new week... with a few rounds of heavy rain likely through tuesday, as tropical moisture gets pushed northward against the mountains once again. based on computer model guidance, monday could be the wettest day of the next 5... with at least a couple of inches possible. rain chances will diminish a bit by the middle of the week, but there will still be showers and thundershowers around, with humidity remaining sky high...
