monday evening (27sep)>

finally... a gorgeous evening in progress, with only a few patches of clouds and some light fog around.  we had more sunshine today than we've had in weeks... along with a high temperature in upper mcleod ganj of 21.7C/71F.

it was very nice to see much less in the way of afternoon gloom today... evidence of the gradually, progressively drier air seeping into the area.  we should continue to see the atmosphere dry out a little more, day by day, as a fairly typical late september / early october pattern prevails from central asia into the northern half of india.  when the monsoon decided to withdraw, it REALLY withdrew... all the way to the southern half of india, in fact.

temperatures will remain very pleasant for the next several days.  there is no sign yet of the first surge of colder air of the season crossing the himalayas, so we'll continue to enjoy comfortably cool evenings and early mornings, followed by mild late mornings and afternoons...
