glimpses of sun... (am.27.feb.11)>

our sunday morning is dawning with partly cloudy skies and a mid-january-like temp of 37F (2.8C).  i'm actually surprised to see these patches of clouds... they indicate that the atmosphere hasn't completely calmed down from our storm system of the past few days.

our weather pattern can be best described as "dirty"... a fast moving jet stream, pools of cold air aloft, and occasional "wiggles" or weak circulations in the upper atmosphere which prevent us from enjoying any long stretches of cloudless, sunny skies.  today and tomorrow look to be the best days of the coming week, when we should be able to eek out some decent sunshine... but even so, a random, isolated shower or two is not out of the question.  things will become more disturbed or "dirty" from tuesday through thursday, with more clouds and better chances of rain entering the forecast again.  the good news is that temperatures should moderate a bit during the next few days, though remaining below normal for the end of feb / beginning of march...
