how long can it last? (pm.3.feb.11)>

i've been hearing the inevitable talk around town today that "winter is over".  i say, "think again".  this is a teaser for the springtime weather that IS to come... but we are definitely in line for more cold, wet, and possible icy/snowy weather before this winter season is over.

today's high reached 61.7F (16.5C) on tushita road at the top of mcleod ganj, despite the off and on clouds that obstructed the sunshine.  this mild-warmish air will stay with us for another day or so... but then it's going to be gradually replaced by a much cooler airmass, which will be accompanied by increasing chances of rain.  showers should be just spotty and mostly light tomorrow, but more significant rainfall may develop from late saturday into early tuesday... with the likelihood of heavy snow in the mountains just above us.  it's too early to tell if temps will cool off enough to allow the snow to make it as far down as mcleod ganj...  but it's not out of the question.

this system looks more ominous than the one that blew through here last weekend.  in the meantime... enjoy the temporary spring wx...
