we've recently had a light shower in upper mcleod ganj... but not enough rain to measure. i heard one rumble of thunder early this afternoon as well. otherwise there was more sun today than we've had in about a week, and the high temperature managed to make it up to 49F (9.4C).
there is some lingering instability left over from our recent storm system... and that's why we still had some clouds and isolated light showers today. it looks like we won't get into an extremely calm and stable pattern during the next few days... but it is going to be much quieter and more pleasant than it has been during most of the past week. temperatures will be slowly and gradually moderating, and there will be at least some sun the next couple of days. i am watching another disturbance which will bring a chance of some showers from saturday evening through sunday, but right now it doesn't look like a big deal at all. then we'll resume the generally fair and milder weather on monday and tuesday...
by the way... i've been told that the total snowfall at triund since saturday is around 5 feet! record snowfall is being reported in the higher mountains of himachal, from lahaul and spiti down into kinnaur.
