official first day of SPRING... (pm.21.mar.11)>

there are patches of high, thin cirrus clouds gracing the skies this evening, after a (slightly cooler than expected) high temp of 66.2F (19C) this afternoon.  i neglected to mention this morning that today is the vernal equinox...which is the official first day of spring in the northern hemisphere.!  we've started the spring season today with temperatures just a bit below normal...

our weather pattern is rather non-descript, and will remain so for most of the week.  there will be a gradual warming trend in all levels of the atmosphere, along with sunshine and some occasional clouds, but other than that, there is nothing exciting going on.  although isolated afternoon/early evening showers may pop up over the mountains during the coming days, i really don't expect any of that precipitation to make it as far downhill as mcleod ganj.  however, on saturday, there are hints that a stronger disturbance may approach from the west, which could increase our precipitation chances into the 30-40% range.  it looks like another good week for spring cleaning and outdoor exploration...
