rain risk continues... (am.12.apr.11)>

it is 55F (12.8C) just before sunrise this morning, under mostly cloudy skies.  i have a brand new 0.40" (1.0cm) in the rain gauge this morning, bringing total rainfall since sunday morning up to 0.70" (1.8cm).  i'll post other rainfall totals around the area as they become available.

it looks like we have one more day to dodge showers and storms... and then a couple of nicer days are on the way.  this unusually vigorous upper-level storm system remains centered just to our north and west, and will push on through here during the coming 18 hours or so.  rain chances remain better than 50/50 today... but will drop significantly tomorrow through friday.  a weak ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will provide 2-3 days of drier and sunnier weather, before the next storm system moves in over the weekend.

the best news i have to report is that temperatures are going to show a rather dramatic warm-up starting tomorrow, and continuing into friday and saturday.  we may actually struggle back up to where we should be for this time of year... imagine that!!

TUESDAY: partly to mostly cloudy, with a good chance of a few more showers and thunderstorms around the area.  still on the cool side...
high: 19C (67F)

TUESDAY NIGHT: a couple of evening showers or thundershowers... then partly cloudy overnight.
low: 14C (57F)

WEDNESDAY: only a slight chance of a PM thundershower... otherwise partly to mostly sunny and warmer.
high: 22C (71F)

THURSDAY: a mix of sun and a few clouds.  pleasantly warm.
high: 23C (73F)

FRIDAY: partly cloudy... a nice and warm day.
high: 24C (75F)

SATURDAY: partly cloudy, with a chance of a thundershower by late afternoon.
high: 23C (74F)
