fickleness... (pm.30.may.11)>

we have sunshine and just a few cumulus clouds over the mountains this evening.  thundershowers failed to develop today, despite an ominous build-up of clouds during the late morning.  those clouds quickly dissipated though, leaving us with a mostly sunny afternoon.  i recorded a high temp of 79.9F (26.6C) up at the top of mcleod ganj.

it looks like we'll remain in this recent fickle "limbo" state for another 36-48 hours or so... with alternating clouds and sun, along with at least a slight chance of a thundershower during the afternoon and overnight hours.  temperatures have been creeping up slowly for the past 3 days, and will continue that trend through wednesday.  however, by wednesday afternoon, we'll start to come under the shadow of the next upper-level storm system which will swing in from the west.  the computer model guidance looks pretty impressive with regard to some strong thunderstorm activity and even the potential for some heavy rainfall... especially between late wednesday and very early friday morning.  factor that into your outdoor plans.

temps still haven't rebounded to the "normal" range for the end of may... but could yet do so tomorrow and the day after.  then... we'll get another shot of cooler air along with the increased rain risk for the latter part of the week.
