generally gorgeous... (am.8.may.11)>

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS!

it's another comfortably mild morning... we have clear skies and 61.1F (16.2C) just prior to sunrise.  current satellite pics show a total lack of any clouds over the entire western himalayan region.

well we've now had a couple of days of relatively coolish temperatures, but it appears that the heat is definitely ready to build and surge back in our direction... starting today.  the warmest weather of the season should be occurring by the middle of the week.  although there should be plenty of sunshine to go around, i am still concerned about a slightly disturbed flow in the upper atmosphere, which could touch off an afternoon thundershower over the mountains on just about any given day.  i've left that possibility out of the forecast for today... but let's see if i'll end up regretting it!

if you have to be travelling down to kangra and beyond later this week, be prepared for temperatures pushing 40C (104F)... and even higher towards chandigarh and delhi...

SUNDAY: lots of morning sun, with a few mountain clouds in the PM.  warmer...
