himalayan summer... (pm.11.may.11)>

today was the warmest day of the year... 85.1F (29.5C) at the top of mcleod ganj.  we've had summer sunshine all day, despite some big cumulus clouds developing over the dhauladars this afternoon.

there is a scattering of thundershowers across the western himalayas during the hour before sunset... satellite photos show nothing threatening us at the moment, but that could change quickly.  there will be a couple of fast-moving upper-level disturbances passing through here between now and friday evening, so the potential for sudden development of a few showers or thunderstorms still exists.  nothing particularly well-organized, widespread or long-lasting is expected, but be aware of the chance nonetheless.

apart from that, our very warm temps and sunshine will stick around.  we could actually climb another couple of degrees (at least) over the course of the next several days, with the only limiting factor being the appearance of a thundershower to temporarily cool things down.  we're getting into the relatively short season in mcleod ganj when a fan is nice to own...

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: risk of a passing thundershower overnight... otherwise clear to partly cloudy and rather warm.
low: 20C (68F)

THURSDAY: partly to mostly sunny skies with a chance of an afternoon/evening thunderstorm.
