the temp is 69.1F (20.6C) just before sunrise this morning, under partly cloudy skies. the satellite photos are showing one lone thundershower in the vicinity of mandi, with other patches of clouds scattered across much of himachal and kashmir.
we're obviously in the midst of a warming trend again... and that will continue for the next two or three days... taking us back close to the warmest temps of the season by mid-week. you may have also noticed that our humidity is higher now, and that makes it feel a bit more uncomfortable even if temps aren't quite as high. the overall weather pattern is going to be generally quiet until about wednesday... but the atmosphere will remain marginally unstable (warming at the surface, pockets of cold air aloft), so be aware of the potential for some isolated thundershowers to pop up mainly during the afternoon hours.
it looks like there will be a more substantial upper-level disturbance making an appearance for the latter half of the week, and that will give us a better shot at some significant shower and thunderstorm action, and also cause temperatures to drop just a bit.
