it is a balmy 73.9F (23.3C) before sunrise this morning, with clear skies. that temperature is the warmest early morning low of the season.
a massive dome of high pressure dominates the weather pattern from the arabian peninsula into central and south asia. temperatures are very warm from the surface into the middle and upper-levels of the atmosphere, and will stay that way for the next three days at least. the warmest weather of 2011 is expected all across northern india between now and wednesday... with widespread oppressive heat (42C/107F+) just to our south on the plains. the good news is that humidity remains very low... so although our temps will be close to the warmest they ever get around here, at least the air will be pleasantly dry.
as i am constantly mentioning, isolated mountain thundershowers can occur on just about any given afternoon during this time of year... but significant rainfall is highly unlikely for a few days. that will change by the end of the week, as a rather potent upper-level disturbance slices into our dome of high pressure, increasing the instability factor and bringing a better chance of some thunderstorms. more on that as the week goes on...
