held captive... (am.1.oct.11)>

skies are clear before sunrise this morning, with the humidity reading way up at 95% to start the day.  night-time and early morning temperatures continue to slowly and gradually cool down... our low this morning has been 59.2F (15.1C).

the absence of significant changes in our general weather pattern will keep the strange and abnormal scenario from the latter part of september continuing into the first part of october.  every day, the lingering moisture along the front ranges of the himalayas waits for the sun to heat things up a bit, then, combined with some energy embedded in the northwest flow aloft, ignites isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.  as i've mentioned, the computer models have been consistently underestimating this phenomenon, and the IMD has been all but ignoring it as well.

there will be a few hours of nice weather daily, but if you plan to be out and about, and especially if you're venturing into the mountains, just be prepared for a sudden period of showers with thunder, and perhaps even some small hail.  aahhhhh... himalayan life...

SATURDAY: partly sunny this morning.  mostly cloudy this afternoon with a good chance of a period of thundershowers once again...

SUNDAY: a mix of sun and clouds, with a continuing risk of a PM thundershower.

TUESDAY: partly sunny skies, with a slight chance of a PM shower.
