slowly cooling... (am.16.oct.11)>

it is partly cloudy at sunrise this morning... just a few scruffy-looking cumulus clouds drifting along the mountains.  i've recorded a low temp of 59F (15C) for the third straight day.  i know there have been pockets of cooler air around the area, as low as 52-54F (11-12C) in spots.  my current humidity reading is 60%.

there don't appear to be any major changes afoot, at least for the next few days.  there is a fairly strong westerly flow in the upper-atmosphere that will continue all week, which will carry through occasional minor disturbances.  our skies will stay generally in the sunny to partly cloudy category, but be aware that an isolated shower or thundershower could pop up one of these afternoons, mainly over the mountains. by the end of the week, there are signs of a stronger system that could stir up measurable rainfall across a more widespread area.

temperatures, although still very comfortable for this time of year, should continue their slow and gradual descent, as we progress through the coming week...
