variety show is back... (pm.06.mar.12)>

Although there are a few breaks... skies are mostly cloudy early this evening, with some billowing cumulonimbus clouds indicating some thundershowers in the mountains.  Personally, I've only witnessed a few sprinkles today, between 4 and 5pm.  There was enough sunshine...off and on... to boost the high temp to 60.4F (15.8C) in the upper part of town.

Our upper-air pattern remains disturbed, as little pockets of cold air and twists of energy pass through on a rapid jet-stream flow.  That is going to keep us in a somewhat precarious situation right through Thursday.  There will be some periods of nice sunshine, but daytime warming should stir up cloudiness and scattered showers and thundershowers during the afternoons and evenings.  It's the kind of situation where localized areas could get hit, and others missed altogether.  Just be aware and prepared, in case you happen to be away from shelter.  Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think we'll see things calm down for the weekend.

We are all longing for authentic spring-time temperatures, but it looks like we're going to be stuck in this phase between winter and spring for the next several days.  You know how it is... very warm and cozy in the sun, but still chilly when the clouds take over.
