very unsettled... (am.13.apr.12)>

We have thick clouds across the area before sunrise on this Friday morning.  I'm not aware of any rainfall as of the time of this posting... but it sure looks like there could be some showers around.  My overnight low up here at the top of McLeod Ganj has been 59.9F (15.5C), which is milder than the past couple of nights.

Yesterday's sunshine was a very welcome break, after all the rain and thunder on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it looks like we're back under the gun.  Although there is no major, organized storm-stystem threatening, the upper-air pattern contains several weak disturbances, which will keep the atmosphere moderately unstable right through the weekend.  It's impossible to pin down the exact timing of potential showers and thunderstorms, but keep in mind that we could get hit virtually anytime between now and Sunday.  There will also be periods of sunshine in the midst of the thundershower risk, so the weekend isn't expected to be a total loss.  Just keep in mind, as always, that it's no fun to get caught in the mountains during a big thunderstorm... so be prepared.

Temperatures will be up and down -- totally dependent on the fluctuation between sun and rain -- but should remain a bit below normal until about Tuesday of next week.  A building ridge of high pressure around that time should usher in a dramatic warm-up...
