a bit of action... (am.21.may.12)>

It is mostly cloudy at sunrise on this Monday morning... after a period of very noisy pre-dawn thunderstorms.  I've recorded 0.14" (4mm) of rain since the first showers rolled in last night around 10pm.  Although the temperature has already rebounded, I'm showing a rather cool overnight low of 61.7F (16.5C)... thanks to the thundershowers... at my location in the upper part of town.

The rain has been rather light, but it's great to get some, nonetheless.  The upper-level disturbance we've been watching and waiting for the last couple of days has managed to stir up the atmosphere a bit, and things should remain moderately unstable today, tonight and even into Tuesday.  Of course there will still be periods of warm sunshine, but keep in mind the risk of another round or two of showers and thunderstorms as this weather system remains in our neighborhood.

By Wednesday, a strong ridge of high pressure is expected to rapidly build across northwest India, diminishing the chances of rain, and allowing temperatures to warm up even more dramatically.  We may be surpassing the warmest weather of the season by Thursday and Friday...
