cricket day #2... (am.19.may.12)>

There are just a few clouds in the midst of the light haze at sunrise on this Saturday morning.  I recorded a very mild overnight low temp of 70.3F (21.3C), and we've now had nearly an entire week without measurable rainfall -- the first time that has happened since the end of March and the first few days of April.

The second and final IPL cricket match will get started at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala at 4:00pm as Punjab Kings XI take on the Delhi Daredevils.  Our weather scenario will contain the same set of variables we've been dealing with all week... very warm air in the lower layers of the atmosphere, limited moisture availability, and minor instability due to weak disturbances aloft.  Hazy sunshine should be plentiful today, but around the time the cricket match gets going, there is the risk of a couple of showers or thundershowers popping up somewhere around the area.  I think the chance of rain delays or interruptions are very slim, but we all know our mountain thunder machine can do anything it wants...!

A couple of thundershowers are a bit more probable on Sunday into Monday as a slightly more substantial upper-level disturbance moves across north India.  Still... there is a major lack of moisture in the atmosphere, so significant rainfall is unlikely.  The only thing that is going to cause our temps to dip very much would be the appearance of a thundershower... so in general, expect the unseasonably warm weather to stick with us right into next week...
