simply fantastic... (pm.01.nov.12)>

Thursday's stats:

Early morning low temp: 55.4F (13.0C)
Afternoon high temp: 66.4F (19.1C)
Rainfall: none

Skies are totally clear just after sunset this evening, after a day featuring wall-to-wall sunshine... other than a few feeble cumulus clouds over the mountains between about 12:30 and 5:00pm.  Although very pleasant (and above normal) for this time of year, temps haven't been able to breach the 67F (19.5C) mark at my location in the upper part of town.  Earlier this week, I was expecting that today and Friday we'd be able to reach 69F (20.5C) or so.

The weather pattern remains pretty much dead calm across northern India, with a weak high pressure ridge in control.  This pattern will begin to break down over the weekend, however, which will allow some significantly colder air to arrive in the upper levels of the atmosphere -- that's going to increase our instability and likely cause more significant cloudiness to develop over the mountains.  None of the computer models are indicating much of a chance of any showers or thundershowers, but we'll have to keep an eye on it on a day-by-day basis.

A cooling trend should kick in starting on Sunday -- lasting through the middle of next week.  By then, we may see temperatures dropping back closer to where we would expect them to be during early November.
