We're back to mostly clear skies just after sunset this evening, after a pretty impressive build-up of thick cumulus clouds over the mountains this afternoon. That's evidence of some relatively cold air in the upper-levels of the atmosphere interacting with sun-warmed air in the lower-levels. Today's high temp was actually the coolest of the season -- although it was still just a shade above normal for this time of the year. My early morning low was only the second time this season I've recorded a temp dropping into the 40s(F).
As I mentioned last evening, there are no dramatic events or changes expected over the course of the coming week or so. Our jet stream runs generally from west-to-east across northern India, and WILL be carrying a couple of upper-level disturbances across the area, but at the moment it appears that there will be nothing substantial. We should continue to enjoy a majority of sunshine during the daylight hours, despite some afternoon cloud development over the mountains which should dissipate during the evenings. I think there could be a slight chance of a brief period of sprinkles or a shower on Saturday, but measurable (or even noticeable) precipitation is unlikely.
There shouldn't be much day-to-day fluctuation in temperatures into early next week. Evidence of a bit of a warm-up has vanished for the moment, but I'll be keeping a close eye on the extended range data, as it tends to vary with each successive run of computer model output.
