chill remains... (pm.07.feb.13)>

Thursday's stats:

Early morning low temp: 36.5F (2.5C)
Afternoon high temp: 50.9F (10.5C)
Rain/Snow: none

Gorgeous sunset in progress... thanks to mostly clear skies early this evening.  There was a build-up of clouds over the mountains between about noon and 4:00pm, but there wasn't enough instability to stir up any light showers, as far as I am aware.  Today was the first day since Saturday without any measurable rain and/or snowfall -- a welcome change.  Temperatures warmed up a couple of degrees today, but remain well below normal.

By all indications, we should be dealing with a quiet weather pattern during the coming week or so.  The jet stream will be embedded with a few very minor disturbances, but will be generally flat and tame for the most part.  Those weak ripples will bring us occasional cloudiness, but wet weather is looking highly unlikely.

This is the time of year when normal/average high temps begin to rise rather substantially, in anticipation of the first tastes of Himalayan springtime.  It does look like our temps will be on the rise over the course of the next several days, but not to the point where we'll be totally erasing this winter chill in the air.
