rainy week ahead... (am.02.feb.13)>

It is cloudy early on this Saturday morning -- and I've recorded a mild overnight low temp of 45.1F (7.3C).

Things look rather ominous outside this morning, but there is no significant rainfall threatening, which should remain the case for the next 36 hours or so.  Our storm system is only in the very early stages of development -- from eastern Iran into Afghanistan -- and won't become fully mature until early Monday.  It still looks like we're going to be in for a long, drawn-out, extended period of wet weather, with this morning's computer model data still pointing to the potential for 15cm (6") of rain here along the front slopes of the Dhauladhars between Sunday night and Wednesday night/early Thursday morning.

Unless something radically changes, this will be a rather warm storm system for early February, with snow confined to areas above McLeod Ganj until perhaps the tail end.  Of course there is plenty of time to see how it all comes together.  Bottom line:  A wet week ahead!
