a welcome break... (pm.10.aug.13)>

Saturday's stats:

Low temp: 64.8F (18.2C)
High temp: 69.8F (21.0C)
Rainfall: trace

It's turned out to be a decent Saturday, as monsoon season Saturdays go.  I've only recorded a trace of rainfall today -- in the form of some drizzle and just a few random sprinkles during the early afternoon.  There was a short-lived glimpse of sunshine during the mid-morning, otherwise clouds and patchy fog have prevailed.  I was able to get some laundry out for a few hours, but there wasn't much drying going on, as humidity remained above 90%.

Things really have dried out and calmed down in the last 36 hours or so.  There have been some scattered showers around the area, but I've been fairly surprised that they seem to be producing such paltry amounts of rain.  We're in need of a break, after the very wet weather of the first eight days of August, so it's all good.  Unfortunately, 'breaks' this time of year don't last for long, and often end very suddenly in the form of a good dumping.  That could happen overnight and/or tomorrow, with steadier and heavier rains back in the forecast for Monday into Wednesday of next week.

We're already nearly half-way to the average total rain amount for the month of August, so unless rainfall rates really slow down, and stay low for many days, we should end the month above normal.  But of course, anything is possible, and that's what keeps our weather interesting...
