a nice rebound... (am.12.feb.14)>

It is a bright clear morning, which is great to see.  It's still cold though -- I've recorded a predawn low temp of 37.8F (3.2C), and it's right around 39F (3.9C) at this moment.  There has been no precipitation overnight, and the humidity stands at 36%.

A ridge of high pressure is now building across northern India, and will provide us with some of the nicest weather we've seen in the past ten days or so -- but only for a couple of days.  There are no clouds threatening this morning, but the sunshine may have to compete with some type of cloud development later in the day after the surface begins to heat up.  Temperatures, though still below normal, will be a bit warmer today, but will likely feel much warmer due to the sunshine.  Thursday is looking even better, with our high temp expected to rise above 50F (10C) for the first time in more than a week and a half.

The data this morning is looking strange and less certain for our weekend storm system.  A couple of the latest computer model runs are showing a less dynamic system which is not going to be able to coordinate the moisture flow from the south in time to bring us the heavier rain/snow they had been projecting earlier.  This could be a fluke, so we'll have to keep watching as the latest data comes in this evening and tomorrow.  Still -- be prepared for a potential winter storm system on Friday through Saturday, along with enough cold air to put us in a position to receive snow even at our elevation.  Will update the scenario this evening...
