higher approval rating... (pm.08.apr.14)>

Tuesday's stats:

Low temp: 51.6F (10.9C)
High temp: 65.0F (18.3C)
Rainfall: none

It is partly cloudy this evening as the sun sets, and we're wrapping up a very nice day.  What a treat to get such a great amount of sunshine, after several days in a row in which cloudiness was never too far away.  There was the obligatory build-up of cumulus clouds over the mountains this afternoon, but even that didn't ever really affect our sunshine here in McLeod.  Temperatures were comfortable, but still quite a bit cooler than normal for the season.

A minor upper-level disturbance is sitting on top of the northwest corner of Kashmir this evening, stirring up a few showers and thundershowers well off to our northwest.  This little system will reinforce the unseasonably cold air in the upper-levels of the atmosphere tonight into Wednesday, but right now all of the data shows that instability won't progress to the levels necessary to get any thundershower activity developing this far south.  But it could mean that temperatures tomorrow will not make any further upward progress than we've already seen today.

Sunshine potential is still looking quite good until the very end of the week, with some further warming expected on Thursday and Friday.  We could again be challenging the warmest temps of the season and the year by that time.  The next system capable of producing a few periods of rain and thunder will arrive by Saturday night, hanging around into the early part of next week.  No sudden blasts of genuine warmth and bone dry conditions on the horizon...
